img_1364I went to the concert entitled “The Art of the Score: West Side Story” at Lincoln Centre on the second day in NYC. This is the concert where NY Philharmonic plays the score of the movie, while movie is shown on the back.
Last year I managed to buy one ticket at the last minute (this series is very popular) and went to see ”Waterfront”  starring Marlon Brando. It was such a wonderful experience that I bought a ticket early on when I found out about this series. (Tonight is the last night for West Side Story.)
img_1363 I was invited to pre-concert reception. I met and talked with musicians who play French Horn and viola, as well as a librarian who has been with the NY Phil for 3 decades. It was fun to talk with people for the first time and learn many new things.  Viola player is half Japanese and we talked about Tokyo etc.

I love the music of this movie by Leonard Bernstein and loved the movie that it was so exciting.
The second day in NYC which began nicely with beautiful weather finished with beautiful art. It is nice to be back in the city…
