Day 1 of St.Gallen symposium ended with Japan dinner. It began with welcome remarks & some opening statements by Lord Griffths  among others. I found the keynote address by the mayor of Mogadishu very interesting as well as opening remarks by the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey.

CLagarde)One on one: investigative interview with C. Lagarde of IMF was as always insightful. After that, I was busy preparing for the anniversary panel scheduled for the evening. We went over details & graphics/ drawings we incorporated into the panel.

After the meeting with speakers & panelists, I spent few hours going over my part at the panel. I had to remember many things & put my notes together.

Then the panel started. It started a bit slow, but it picked up the heat soon. It was so much fun to moderate the panel where there was a range of views. We could have gone on another half an hour easily, but we stopped the panel to go on to the award ceremony.

winnersI felt very honored to play this role of chairing the anniversary award panel and ceremony. I was very relieved as it went well & we were pretty much on time!

Day 1 was over & I could enjoy wine!
