Shogi Meijin sen title match has been underway.  The game No. 3 was held on May 6 and 7, in which challenger, Toshiyuki Moriuchi, won.  He is 3-0 against defending Meijin Yoshiharu Habu.

In 2008, the Ryuoh sen title match ended with the victory of defending Ryuoh Akira Watanabe, but it was the first time in big title match in Shogi history where 4 straight wins after 3 losses.  Yoshiharu Habu won the first three games and lost the next four, and Akira Watanabe defended his title.

I think it is just about the first time that Yoshiharu Habu has three losses in majors so far.  As many people (including sponsore) do not want the Meijin sen title match to end in four games, I hope Yoshiharu Habu will come back in the next game.  Game No. 4 is to be held on May 17 and 18 in the city of Hirosaki, Aomori prefecture.
