IMG_6469IMG_6479 This past weekend was a long weekend in British Columbia. As summer is coming to an end soon (you can almost feel the air becoming much cooler), many people came to Whistler to enjoy long weekend.  Unlike the weekend before when Ironman Canada was held in pouring rain, the weather cooperated.  Wanderlust, a big Yoga event as well as Canadian National BBQ Championships were held over the weekend. A variety of bands performed at Olympic Plaza at night as part of Whistler concert series.
I tried 5 holes of golf (there is a great deal called 5 after 5 for 25 CDN), stand-up paddle board at Lakeside Park (30CDN for an hour), Sailing Drop in(15 CDN) at Alta Lake and again 5 holes of golf over the course of 4 days. I also went to the concert at the Olympic Plaza three nights in a row.
I find it great to be able to enjoy a variety of activities in great weather (it is 25 to 30 C High, 15 C Low and very dry) at very reasonable cost as above.
IMG_6681There are many families biking, hiking, swimming, kayaking, sailing & just walking along. I see many small children on bikes, and young people playing golf w parents. It is wonderful to see the families enjoying the summer (at reasonable cost.)
I find it important for families to try a variety of things (bike, swimming, canoeing, etc.) so that children get exposed to these activities early on.
