Today, September 26, marked the session #12 of the Boot Camp Phase 2.  It was the last of  the phase 2 which began in early September.  This time, some students were out of the country for internship etc. and others were doing internship in Japan, which left several members attending most of the sessions.

As I reflected the BC2, I realized that one student (and I!) attended all the session of the Phase 2.  There were three or four more who missed one or two sessions, thus making the group of 5-6 core members during this phase.

Phase 2 was held from 8:00 a.m. for 2 hours, instead of 7 a.m. during the Phase 1.  As we had several members (instead of 13 we had during Phase 1), we were able to focus on a few things well.

I myself learned a lot from the BC 2 as I had to explain how to capture the structure of the short articles, practiced self introduction in English more than once, and impromptu speech twice.  We continued the book review, which forced me to read at least one book and post the review.

As I believe in doing it myself to learn, I got to draw my vision of the project, to do self introduction, deliver the sales pitch for our project, all in English.  I learned a lot from interacting with students, and practicing what I preach, and reflecting.   I hope students got some out of the BC 2.

We will continue BC in the form of project activities from now.  I want to congratulate students who accomplished BC 2, in particular, those who came to most of the session early in the morning (now it is still dark at 5:00 a.m. when I get up to make it to Hiyoshi).    It is a new beginning for all of us.
