Blog post

The column that I wrote for the Opinion page of the Japan Times was published. I started it with the story of Shonei Ohtani of the LA Angels who just began his MLB career. I believe many Japanese (including me!-photo below showing me and Shohei in the far back1) visited  LA to watch Shohei Ohtani during Golden Week holidays.

From the example of Shohei,  I discussed the benefit of keeping the country, city and organization open to outsiders. I believe in “open innovation” and free flow of people by referring to Shohei and Ichiro, two MLB players from Japan-one starting the career and the other coming to the end of the brilliant career at MLB.
