It turned almost winter in New York City on Thursday.  The morning temperature was 41F and it was gusty.  Wind chill must have been in the 30s.   It was quite a challenge to run at the Park, but I managed to do it, though I suffered some afterwards.

historicalI had lunch with my daughter in law, her friend and her mother who lived in Japan for a while at the Cafe of Historical Society of  New York. It is always nice to meet with new people.  The family used to live in Roppongi  and we talked about Japan etc.

I spent about an hour watching New York Story, 18-minute film about the history of New York City, browsed around the museum to learn more about my favorite city.

In the evening, I went to the third show of the week at Broadway, Kinky Boots.  This is the show which won many Tony awards this year, and my friend knowledgeable about performing arts recommended. I tried to get the ticket last time I was in NYC, but I could not.  This time, it was quite difficult to get the ticket, but I managed.

The show was fantastic, one of the best shows I saw.  Active, lively, fun and interesting twist in the story.  I loved Billy Porter, one of the main characters (I believe he won Tony this year!) .  The audience went wild and gave them standing ovation.   We could tell that everybody in the audience got their spirit high and excited.    You could feel the excitement of the audience even in the breezy and cold night in NYC.
