This afternoon, four student groups presented their proposal for Tokyo for 2020, using Big Data and technology. We assigned four roles to the group–students, business people, tourists, and handicapped from overseas visiting Tokyo for some time.
We began with the field work where students tried to identify what data is available for each group and what is not available. The list included lack of wi-fi, cash-based transaction, no road signs in English, etc.
Based upon the finding from field work and series of sessions we had guest speakers from companies, student groups made a proposal (to the governor of Tokyo.)
Though details for implementation were missing in some cases, the recommendations were interesting and insightful, as they were quite different from the Japanese perspective.
It marked the last group presentation of the course and the only thing left is wrap-up scheduled next week over lunch! (I will post photo once I get them.)
