On the last day in Sao Paulo (Saturday, August 17), I visited the Japanese Immigration Museum on the upper floors of BUNKYO. It was very interesting museum that traces the history of immigrants from Japan to Brazil.  I now realize how much of guts the first generation of Japanese immigrants had to make a long journey to Brazil and how much struggle they must have suffered during the early years and during the war.

After the visit, we went to the restaurant on the top floor of the contemporary museum for lunch.  It was very crowded as it is Saturday, and beautiful warm day in Sao Paolo.  I thoroughly enjoyed the great view of the park, great company and nice foods.  I am so grateful to Midori & Gioji Okuhara who arranged all these events for me during the past three days in Sao Paulo.  It is one thing to know about the city, but being there makes such strong impact.  I hope I get another opportunity to come back to Brazil and at the same time, I can let people in Japan know more about Brazil.  Now I am getting ready to leave Sao Paulo to go back to Vancouver via Newark.
