I am in Bangkok, Thailand, to attend the World Economic Forum on East Asia 2012. The official program starts on tomorrow,  May 31,  but many private meetings are scheduled today,  May 30.

rivernight8ICTSummit This is the first time I spend some time in Bangkok and am very excited about it.  The hotel has a great view of the river.  As I walked around the hotel and the neighborhood area yesterday,  I saw people getting ready for the big event–Forum.   I also walked around the busy market back of the hotel.

I saw many familiar faces including one of the global shapers when I checked in very early in the morning, some Forum staff I work very closely during lunch and breakfast.  Many say Hi, which makes me feel at home.  People in Thailand are very graceful and very friendly, willing to help.  I am also overwhelmed by the energy of the participant, particularly, the young ones.  Their appetite at meals is sometimes overwhelming, too!

During the next three days, I have scheduled private meetings, bilateral meetings and the sessions I am to moderate and to participate. As there are always last minute changes, I need to keep track of what I committed to do! (which can be a bit confusing, as I sometimes mixed up with the meetings of the Forum on Africa 2 weeks ago. )

I am sure I will have some new encounters, learn many new things and explore some opportunities during the Forum.  I am very fortunate to be given the opportunity.  Will continue reporting.  So stay tuned.
