Blog post

I arrived in San Paulo in the afternoon of August 15.  Gioji met me at the airport with beautiful roses.  He took me to the hotel where I checked in quickly got ready for the big evening at BUNKYO. Sandra et al picked me up at the hotel and we went to BUNKYO where the big event was scheduled.

I had a wonderful time, meeting with many people, taking pictures and being interviewed etc. (Much more than I can write about now, as I am rushing out!)

I presented Society 5.0 and Fabio, President of Google, Brazil followed with very interesting presentation.  We joined the panel afterwards and I had so many more interviews.

It was a long day, but very useful and memorable day for me. I will write more, so stay tuned.  I am so grateful to those who made this happen.

    Dear Ms. Ishikura,
I watched your panel at BUNKYO on August 15, and I want to congratulate you. It was very interesting to learn the prosperity that Society 5.0 will bring with the technology and the Ikigai idea.
At the end of the panel, I wasn’t able to ask you. At the same time that Society 5.0 will bring us benefits, with the techs, it will also bring harms like manipulation. How do you deem that we will be able to avoid the chaos caused by fake information?
An example of technology that can bring us harm is deepfake. This tech could be used to produce videos of someone making an announcement that was never made by the real person.
    Thank you for your attention,
    Maria Luíza Nakano Fujihara.

Hi, thanks for your comment. I agree that technology can bring harm as well as benefit. Light & darkside of technology. I really do not have spectacular solution idea, except that we develop capability to judge the quality of information, make sure it is backed up with facts. It leads me to the importance of educating the younger generation who is born with technology.
