P1020779 Today, December 22, is my Dad’s 92nd birthday.  I really wanted to celebrate this day with him, so I came back from Hawaii yesterday.  (I am leaving again tomorrow night, hopefully, this time to relax and get some rest.) (Photo on the left of my Dad)

I invited my cousins and my friend who visit my Dad who lives in the senior residence often.   Four of them us made it to celebrate his birthday over lunch.   We(my Dad and I) met and got close to  my cousins after several years when we had lunch for celebrating my mother’s life about a year ago.

Birthday luncheon was a lot of fun. (Photo below show how happy we all look!)  I managed to cook (some catering, too)  for six people and prepared birthday present for my Dad.  (It was  a bit hectic to do grocery shopping and to pick up some presents/wrap them last night. )

P1020781 My friend went to pick up some food and my Dad, which helped me so much.  Though one of my cousins got lost for a while, we managed to have nice luncheon.

We talked a lot about old days and some stories about our parents we never knew until now.  My Dad brought some very nice photos of my Mothers and of his when they were very young.

As the man from Kauai told me at Starbucks at Lihue airport right before I left two days ago, my Dad is “old AND wonderful.”   I am so glad that I was able to do lunch and am so grateful for my cousins and friend to take time to come to celebrate with us.
