P1010279 It has been VERY COLD in NYC today. It was zero C all day, but with the strong wind, it felt like 10 below! (Photo on the left is the Time-Warner bldg. at Columbus Circle.)

I met with the professor at Columbia Business School to discuss the financial services industry, business school in general and the U.S. outlook etc.  I got an impression that the outlook remains to be seen, as there seems to be a disconnect between financial market and financial services industry and the rest of the society.

We talked considerably about the recent changes taking place in the world, including the unprecedented growth in Asia, together with other problems.  I now hear so much about the shift in perception and mentality among the younger generation in the U.S. toward social entrepreneurship and the higher interest in social issues. The fundamental change and transformation seems to be taking place.

P1010283 I also walked around (in this frigid weather!) the Fifth avenue and west side.  It was COLD, but so many people were out shopping.  What a vitality, despite the high unemployment rate and the possibility of the double dip recession! (Photo on the left is the window of Cartier at night.)
