Summit on the Global Agenda in Dubai(GAC No.1)

P1010226Early this morning (local time),  I arrived in Dubai, UAE.  I am attending the Summit on the Global Agenda organized by the World Economic Forum and the government of Dubai.  This is the second time the Summit on the GA was held in Dubai.

Global Agenda Council is the initiative by the World Economic Forum to provide the platform for the experts throughout the world to discuss some 70 global agenda.  Each council consists of 10-20 experts throughout the world.  I am a member of the two councils–Skills Gap and Future of Japan.

This morning started with the briefing meeting for the Chair of the councils. I attended this meeting as two co-chairs of the Future of Japan council are not in Dubai yet.  After the meeting, we had the plenary session, followed by the reception and lunch with the council members.  I sat with the members of the Skills Gap council and it was nice to see old friends and meet with new members.   The afternoon session lasted about 3 hours in which council members discussed the Issues and Proposal.   It was interesting and quite lively, and we accomplished what we were expected to do.

Now I am back at the hotel (it is almost midnight Tokyo time and I can feel it!), and try to figure out what to do now.  It has been quite a day.
