Cold Call Nights-Darden style
Last Friday, February 6, we had annual Darden school reunion at ICS. I host one Darden reunion a year as I am a Darden class of 19xx and we have exchange program at ICS. =>For Japanese
We had some 20 people –most alumni of Darden as well as their friends- attending what is called “Cold Call Nights” starting at 7:00 p.m. Every year, I try something new such as role play, brainstorming etc. etc. This year, I wanted to try Work Space type brainstorming (though without visual artist).
We started the session with self introduction of participants, followed by my introduction of the session. We broke into several groups for 1 hour or so, using various toys for some ideas.
The topic was how to re-establish Japan Brand in the world. This is the topic I have been intereste these days, as I sense that the brand value of Japan–corporations, people etc.–has been deteriorating these days.
The session ended with the brief presentation by the groups, with the group photo. Then we moved to the nearby Chinese restaurants known for GYOZA . It was fun night for me. (I got home after MIDNIGHT. It was a long day as I began the day teaching at 8:30 a.m., but definitely worth it.)

Thank you so much for a great time!
Through this session, I relearned the importance of devising a value preposition that reflects people’s thoughts and capabilities. Only then
can entities / nations align its interests and efforts for a sustainable future.
I sincerely look forward to more encounters and events to be hosted!

Hi, Dae In, thank YOU for arranging and actively participating in the event. My new book(which will come out in a month or so) has this as one of the key elements and I continue to work on that.
