Saturday (Feb. 4), I arrived at JFK to find it is VERY COLD. I was fortunate to be able to check in when I arrived in Manhattan. As I wanted to get over jet lag(I slept about 5-6 hours onboard, so it was not too bad), I walked around in the sun-it was beautiful day- and checked Saturday market nearby to buy some apples.
In the evening, I went to Saturday mass nearby by and then hit the Carnegie Hall. I was fortunate again as the Orpheus Orchestra was having concert there on the day I arrived. They arranged the ticket for me and I was able to make it just in time (it was so crowded at the Box Office.)
The show was great with pieces ranging from New York Premier by Michael Hersch to Violin solo by Vadim Gluzman, playing familiar Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto.
First day in NYC–exciting and inspiring as always. Here is a short video.
