Family Christmas Dinner…
Last night (Christmas Day), I went to join the Christmas dinner at my friends’ place. It took two phone calls for me to get there as it was the first time I drove myself. (Despite the directions I was given, the name of the street was missing and I missed the turn to go quite far before I realized the mistake.) I managed to get there to join the celebration!
I have been there a few times before so people looked familiar. But the children are growing so quickly that I cannot recognize who is who! The baby two years ago is a toddler, and the small girl is now talking to me about her Christmas presents etc.
It is nice to see the kids and ask them about the presents and how they spent Christmas day. They have a lot of energy! As Christmas is a day for the families, I am grateful that I have friends with whom I can celebrate while away. It is such a happy occasion. Even better as it is in Kauai where weather is beautiful!
Now I see people start leaving to get back home. I have a few more days in the warm weather. While it lasts, I will enjoy. The Obamas are in Oahu, enjoying their 10-day vacation.
